CHPM Event Calendar 2023

A new initiative was born recently at the Centre d’Histoire et de Prospective Militaires (CHPM) in Pully Switzerland. The center, which is already well-known for its military studies, was reinforced by a motivated wargaming crew. This initiative supports the implementation of wargaming under the banner of @infowargame in Instagram. The idea is to produce both visual content (social media) and in-depth wargaming reports to support the methodology, design and application of wargames.

Talking about wargaming doesn’t make it a visible or accessible method, talking is key only if you can also put it into practice. Less talking, more practice.

After a bigger “Wargame Event” in October 2022 and a series of three wargaming sessions in January / February 2023 about the war in Ukraine, the team decided to continue their journey to present, debate and evolve with and through wargaming. We believe the 2023 program 2023 to be intensive, yet realistic. Each session will cover another historical period. It will try to build on other methodological roots, and borrow diverse mechanics and game systems to represent the conflict. Through our journey in wargaming we will live and let live a certain wargaming culture. We start small but we aim high, and there is a lot of untouched potential there.
